What is actually happening
The machine opens a valve at the back to fill, and watches the pressure system to know when it has enough. No water at all usually means the supply, the valve or a blocked inlet filter. Water that fills and immediately drains away points at the drain hose being fitted too low, siphoning the water straight back out.
The Montpellier fault codes that point at this
A Montpellier washing machine will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to not filling with water:
- E01 — The machine can't confirm the door is locked, so it won't start the wash.

- E19 — The machine has spotted a fault with its "Pyrojet" water spray system ays water onto the wash load, and it has stopped the cycle rather than carry on.
- E20 — The machine has stopped because it cannot see the drain pump working, so the water in the drum isn't going anywhere.
- E33 — The machine has lost the signal from the part that tells it how much water is in the drum, so it has shut the water valve and stopped rather than risk filling blind.

The usual causes on a Montpellier washing machine
