What is actually happening
Genuinely dead is usually a supply problem rather than the machine. Before anything else it is worth proving the socket, because a tripped RCD or a failed plug fuse accounts for a good share of these. Where the supply is proven good, the fault is normally the mains filter, the on/off switch or the control board.
The New World fault codes that point at this
A New World washing machine will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to will not turn on:
- E01 — The machine can't confirm the door is properly shut and locked, so it won't start or has stopped mid-cycle.
- E02 — The machine isn't getting enough water in, so it has stopped the programme.
- E03 — The machine can't pump the water out, so it has stopped rather than carry on with a drum full of water.
- E06 — The machine has lost track of how fast the drum motor is turning, so it has stopped the wash.
- E07 — The washing machine's control board has lost or muddled the settings that tell it what model it is, so it won't run a programme.
- E08 — The machine has found a fault in the part of its control board that powers the drum motor, so it has stopped rather than risk running the motor.
- E09 — The machine isn't happy with the electricity reaching it \u2014 the supply voltage is either too high or too low, so it has stopped the programme.
- E10 — The machine can't get a sensible reading from the sensor that tells it how much water is in the drum, so it has stopped rather than risk overfilling or running dry.
