What E07 actually means
The washing machine's control board has lost or muddled the settings that tell it what model it is, so it won't run a programme.
E07 on this range is a configuration fault. The main control board stores a set of parameters matching your exact model " drum size, motor type, heater and so on " and if that data is missing, corrupted or wrong, the board stops rather than run the wrong cycle. It isn't a blockage, a leak or anything you've done wrong with loading.
What usually causes it
- Control board settings corrupted, often after a power surge or interruption
- A replacement control board fitted without being configured for the model
- Software fault on the main board
- Poor connection between the display panel and the main board
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall socket, leave it for a minute, then switch back on and try a short programme " occasionally a one-off glitch clears
- Check the plug and socket are sound and the machine isn't running through an extension lead or adaptor
When to call someone
This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above. We cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, and it's £66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it — £84 in total if it's repaired on the visit with no parts needed. Any parts needed are quoted on site before we fit them — you decide. Every repair carries a 90-day workmanship guarantee.
Outside our area? The explanation above still stands — take it to a local engineer and tell them the code. Knowing it saves them time and you money.
