What E00 actually means
The control board has lost a sensible reading from the freezer's temperature sensor, so it can no longer tell how cold the freezer is.
Beko's documents list E0 as a freezer compartment air sensor fault — the sensor that tells the board the air temperature inside the freezer. With no usable signal, the board falls back on a safety measure and runs the compressor continuously rather than cycling it, so the freezer often ends up over-cold and iced up while the fridge side may behave oddly. Food stays frozen, but nothing is being controlled properly.
What usually causes it
- Faulty freezer air sensor (the most common finding by far)
- A damaged or chafed sensor wire, or a connector that has worked loose
- Heavy frost or ice build-up around the sensor upsetting its reading
- A control board fault — much less common, and often wrongly blamed first
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the appliance off at the socket for a minute and back on — Beko's own notes say the error is cleared by a power cut, so if it was a momentary glitch it will not return
- Check the doors are closing and sealing properly, as a door left ajar causes heavy frosting that can mask or worsen the problem
- If there is thick ice inside the freezer, a full manual defrost (food moved elsewhere, appliance switched off, ice left to melt naturally — no scraping with tools) is worth doing before calling anyone
