What E07 actually means
The machine can't get a sensible reading from the part that tells it how much water is in the drum, so it won't start the wash.
A pressure (water level) sensor tells the control board how full the drum is. When that signal is missing or nonsensical, the machine stops rather than risk overfilling or heating a dry drum. A common symptom is the machine pumping out water every time you switch it on, or the programme never getting going.
What usually causes it
- The sensor's plug has worked loose or the wiring to it has come adrift
- The small pressure hose to the sensor is kinked, split or blocked with sludge
- A faulty water level sensor
- A fault on the main control board
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch it back on and try a short programme — occasional one-off glitches clear this way
- Check the drain hose isn't kinked or pushed too far down the standpipe
- Clean out the pump filter at the bottom front and make sure the drum is empty of standing water
