What E10 actually means
The machine has spotted a fault in the part of its control board that powers the door lock, so it won't start or carry on.
On these Beko machines E10 points to a short circuit in the door lock circuit on the main control board. Because the machine can no longer be sure it can lock and unlock the door safely, it halts the programme. The door itself may stay locked, or the machine may refuse to lock it at all.
What usually causes it
- A fault on the main control board (the usual cause)
- A failed door lock/interlock assembly
- Damaged or chafed wiring between the board and the door lock
- A door catch or lock jammed by clothing or a build-up of grime
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on — this clears a one-off glitch
- Check nothing is trapped in the door seal or caught in the catch, and close the door firmly so it clicks
- Wipe the door catch and the recess it locks into if they are dirty or sticky

This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above.
