What E14 actually means
The machine has spotted an electrical fault in the circuit that drives its jet (recirculation) pump — the pump that sprays water back over the laundry — and has stopped rather than run the wash blind.
On Beko machines the jet pump is switched by a triac on the main control board. E14 is logged when that switching device reads as either open circuit (no drive to the pump at all) or shorted/behaving like a diode, which would leave the pump uncontrolled. Because the fault sits in the control side rather than in a filter or hose, the machine usually flags it early in the fill or wash stage and refuses to carry on.
What usually causes it
- Failed triac on the main control board
- Damaged or disconnected wiring to the jet pump
- Seized or electrically failed jet pump
- Water ingress or corrosion on the board from a small leak
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and restart a cycle — this clears a one-off read error
- Check nothing is trapped in the door seal and the door closes properly, so you are not chasing two faults at once
