What E11 actually means
The machine has lost the electrical connection to one of the motor windings, so the drum won't turn.
Beko's E11 is logged when the control board sends power to the motor but one of the three motor phases reads as an open circuit. Because the machine can't drive or control the drum safely, it halts the programme rather than carrying on. It's usually a wiring or motor fault rather than anything to do with water or filters.
What usually causes it
- A motor plug that has worked loose or come off
- Damaged or chafed wiring between the board and motor
- Worn motor brushes or a break in a motor winding
- A faulty motor itself
- A fault on the control board's motor drive circuit
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and try a short programme — this clears a one-off glitch
- Check nothing heavy has been resting against or knocked the back of the machine
- Make a note of whether the drum turns at all by hand with the power off, which helps the engineer
