What E09 actually means

The machine can't lock the door properly, so it won't start the wash.

Before a Beko washer takes water it has to lock the door shut. E09 means the control board isn't getting the door lock circuit to operate — the signal to the lock has failed, so the machine stops rather than filling with an unlocked door. It's usually the door lock itself or the control board that drives it.

What E09 looks like on a Beko washing machine

Check the door closes squarely and the catch clicks — if it feels loose or sloppy, mention that to the engineer.
