Beko E08 washing machine: what it means & what to check

What E08 actually means

The machine isn't getting enough water in, so it has stopped the cycle.

Beko's E08 means the machine either detected no water coming in, or a fault in the electrics that operate the fill valve or drain pump. By far the most common cause is a supply problem — a closed tap, a kinked or blocked hose, or mains water pressure below 1 bar. The machine won't start washing until it can fill to the right level.

What E08 looks like on a Beko washing machine

Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Beko washing machine, E08 usually shows up as one or more of these:

Machine not draining
Water left in the drum at the end of the cycle
Stops mid-cycle full of water
Standing water in the bottom

What usually causes it

Water tap to the machine turned off or only part open
Blocked filter in the fill hose inlet, or a kinked/trapped hose
Low household water pressure (under 1 bar)
Faulty water inlet valve
Control board fault on the valve or pump circuit

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Check the tap feeding the machine is fully open
Look along the fill hose for kinks or anything squashing it behind the machine
Run a nearby cold tap to see if your water pressure is unusually weak
Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then power it back up and retry the cycle
If you can unscrew the fill hose by hand with the tap off, rinse the small mesh filter in the inlet
