What E10 actually means
The temperature sensor in the convertible "multi-zone" compartment — the drawer you can switch between fridge and freezer settings — has stopped giving the control board a sensible reading.
Beko calls that switchable compartment the Joker or MultiZone drawer, and it has its own air sensor telling the board how cold the space actually is. When that signal goes out of range or disappears, the board can no longer control the compartment properly, so it flags E10 and falls back on a fixed run pattern instead of true temperature control. The rest of the fridge freezer usually carries on cooling, but the multi-zone drawer may drift warm or run far colder than the setting you chose.
What usually causes it
- A loose or corroded plug on the multi-zone air sensor wiring
- The sensor itself having failed or gone open circuit
- Damp or ice getting into the sensor pocket in the compartment
- Damaged sensor cable, often where it passes into the cabinet
- Less often, a fault on the main control board reading the sensor
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Switch off at the wall for a minute or two, then power back up — a genuine sensor fault will come straight back, a glitch may not
- Check nothing in the drawer is packed hard against the back wall or blocking the air path
- Look for a build-up of ice in the multi-zone compartment; if it is heavily iced, emptying it and letting it defrost naturally is worth doing
- Note whether the food in that drawer is actually at the right temperature, and move anything at risk to the main freezer
