What E17 actually means

The machine has detected too much foam in the drum and has stepped in to deal with it — usually by adding an extra rinse or cutting the programme short.

Beko washer dryers monitor the amount of suds building up during washing and rinsing. When the foam level goes past what the machine can handle, it flags E17 and either runs an unrequested extra rinse to clear the suds or ends the programme before spinning, because heavy foam stops the drum spinning properly and can push water where it shouldn't go. Over-foaming on its own is not a fault with the machine, so in most cases nothing has actually broken.
