What E71 actually means
The machine can't get a signal from the sensor that tracks the AquaTech water-spray paddle in the drum, so it has stopped the wash.
Beko's AquaTech models circulate water through a moving paddle in the drum, and a small magnet-and-reed sensor tells the control board that the paddle is in the right place and moving. E71 means that sensor circuit is open — the board is seeing nothing at all, either from a disconnected or broken cable, a failed sensor, or a missing magnet in the paddle. Without that confirmation the machine won't run the cycle properly.
What usually causes it
- Loose or unplugged sensor connector on the drum
- Damaged or broken sensor wiring
- Faulty AquaTech reed sensor
- Magnet missing or dislodged from the AquaTech paddle inside the drum
- Fault on the motor control board
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on and try a short cycle — an occasional glitch can clear
- Make sure the drum isn't overloaded and nothing is jammed against the paddle inside the drum
