What F01 actually means

The machine isn't getting the water it expects, so it has stopped and is waiting.

At the start of the fill, the washer opens its inlet valve and expects the drum to reach a set water level within a certain time. If not enough water arrives — no water at all, or only a trickle — it halts the cycle and shows F01 rather than running the drum dry.

What F01 looks like on a ElectriQ washing machine

What usually causes it

Water tap to the machine turned off or only part open
Kinked or trapped inlet hose behind the machine
Blocked filter in the inlet hose connection or at the tap
Low mains water pressure, or work being done on the water supply
Faulty inlet valve or water level sensor inside the machine

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Check the tap feeding the washer is fully open and that water is running elsewhere in the house.
Pull the machine forward gently and check the inlet hose isn't kinked, twisted or crushed against the wall.
Turn the machine off at the socket for a minute, switch back on and restart the programme.
If the machine has both hot and cold fills, make sure both taps are on.
