What E93 actually means
The machine's own settings file has failed its self-check at switch-on, so the control board won't let the appliance run.
Every time an Electrolux washer dryer powers up, the main board reads the configuration stored in its memory and works out a checksum for it, then compares that with the checksum already saved. E93 is what you see when the machine-configuration part of that data doesn't add up, and the board blocks the cycle rather than run on settings it can't trust. Nothing mechanical has failed — no pump, no motor, no door lock — it's the stored data or the board holding it.
What E93 looks like on a Electrolux washer dryer
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Electrolux washer dryer, E93 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Machine door won't open
- Door won't lock or click shut
- Door lock light flashing
- Door stuck shut with the load inside
- Won't start even with the door closed
- Drum not turning
- Won't spin
- Hums or buzzes but nothing moves
Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.
What usually causes it
- Corrupted configuration data in the main board's memory
- Main control board fault
- A board fitted or reprogrammed with the wrong configuration for the model
- A power interruption or supply disturbance while the machine was writing or reading its settings
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Switch the machine off at the wall, leave it for a minute, then switch back on — a genuine data fault will come straight back, but an occasional one-off clears
- Press Start/Pause or reset the current cycle at the programme selector, then try again from cold
- If the machine has an appliance-only extension lead or adaptor, plug it directly into the wall socket instead
Which Electrolux models show E93
E93 means the same thing on all 2 of these models. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.

Can I fix Electrolux E93 myself?

- Press Start/Pause or reset the current cycle at the programme selector, then try again from cold.
- If the machine has an appliance-only extension lead or adaptor, plug it directly into the wall socket instead.
