What F17 actually means
The oven has lost the power-sharing conversation it holds with the hob, so it refuses to start heating and drops back to standby.
On Electrolux appliances where the hob and oven share a power supply and talk to each other, the hob control has to keep telling the oven how much power is available. If that message stops arriving for around 20 seconds, the oven cancels the function it was running (or won't start one at all), goes into standby and shows this code. What usually causes it
- The hob control board has stopped sending its power status message
- A loose or damaged connection in the link between hob and oven controls
- Fault in the hob's electronics after a power surge or spill
- Incorrect configuration after a board or control panel has been replaced
- Failed oven power board
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the appliance off at the wall for a minute, then back on \u2014 a one-off communication dropout can clear
- Check the hob's own control panel powers up and responds normally; note whether it shows any code of its own
- Make sure nothing is resting on or covering the hob touch controls
