What F27 actually means
The oven's control electronics have hit a fault they can't identify, so the display board has shut the oven's power board down and put up a warning.
This is Electrolux's catch-all "unknown error" from the smart control board. The user interface has seen a state it doesn't recognise coming back from the oven's power board, so rather than carry on heating it sends a switch-off command and holds the message on screen. The oven normally won't heat while the code is showing, and the code stays up until the display is switched off.
What usually causes it
- A one-off electronic glitch or brief mains disturbance
- Communication problem between the display board and the oven's power board
- A fault developing on the control or smart board itself
- Damp or heat damage to control wiring behind the fascia
- Software or configuration mismatch after a previous board change
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Switch the oven off at the wall (or its circuit breaker) for a minute, then back on — a genuine one-off will often clear and not return
- Make sure the oven door is closing fully and the shelves aren't fouling it, then try a short bake cycle to see if the code comes back
- If the oven is built into a run with a hob linked to it, switch that off at the wall too before restoring power
