What F37 actually means
The oven has lost communication with its food (meat) probe system and has flagged it as a fault.
On Electrolux ovens fitted with a food probe, the control board talks to a separate probe module. F37 means that conversation has broken down — the board can no longer get a sensible reply from the probe module, so it stops rather than cook to a temperature it cannot read. Ovens without a food probe socket will never show this code.
What usually causes it
- A brief electronic glitch that clears on a full power reset
- A loose or damaged lead between the main power board and the food probe module
- A failed food probe module
- A fault on the main power board itself
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Switch the oven off at the wall for at least 30 seconds, then back on — this clears the fault if it was only a communication glitch
- If the probe plugs into a socket in the cavity, unplug it and check the socket and plug are clean and dry before trying again
When to call someone
This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above. We cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, and it's £66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it — £84 in total if it's repaired on the visit with no parts needed. Any parts needed are quoted on site before we fit them — you decide. Every repair carries a 90-day workmanship guarantee.
Outside our area? The explanation above still stands — take it to a local engineer and tell them the code. Knowing it saves them time and you money.
