Servis F00 dishwasher: what it means & what to check

What F00 actually means

The dishwasher has decided there is too much water inside it and has shut the cycle down to stop it overflowing.

Servis dishwashers monitor the water level in the tub, and F00 is the overflow warning — the level has gone past the point the control board is willing to allow. The fault notes this code isn't normally shown during a healthy cycle, so seeing it means the safety level has genuinely been reached. In most cases the machine will keep running the drain pump to get rid of the excess and refuse to carry on washing until the fault is cleared.

What F00 looks like on a Servis dishwasher

What usually causes it

Water inlet valve letting water in when it should be shut, so the tub keeps filling
A faulty or blocked water level (pressure) switch giving the board a false reading
Blocked filters or a restricted drain, so water backs up in the base instead of leaving
Foam from the wrong detergent, or too much of it, fooling the level sensing
A leak into the base tray setting off the flood protection

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the dishwasher off at the wall and turn the water tap behind or under the unit to the off position, then leave it for a minute before switching back on — if it fills up again with the tap off, the inlet valve is passing water and needs an engineer
Take out the mesh and coarse filters in the base of the tub, rinse them under the tap and refit them properly seated
Check the drain hose isn't kinked, crushed behind the machine or pushed too far into the standpipe
Look for pooled water on the floor under the machine — if there is any, leave it switched off and off at the tap
Use only dishwasher detergent and the correct dose; hand washing-up liquid produces foam that can trigger this
