Stop using it for now. Carrying on with this fault risks further damage or a leak. Switch it off at the wall until it has been looked at.

What F06 actually means

The dishwasher can no longer read the water temperature, so it has stopped the cycle rather than heat blind.

F06 is logged when the control board loses a sensible reading from the heater's temperature sensor — the part that tells it how hot the wash water is. Because the programme relies on that reading to decide when to move on from the heating stage, the machine halts instead of continuing. Typically you'll see the cycle stall part-way with water still in the base, dishes coming out cold, or the code appearing shortly after the wash begins.

What F06 looks like on a Servis dishwasher

Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Servis dishwasher, F06 usually shows up as one or more of these:

  • Dishwasher not draining
  • Water left in the tub at the end of the cycle
  • Stops mid-cycle full of water
  • Standing water in the bottom
  • Dishes coming out cold and wet
  • Not drying the load
  • Water not heating up
  • Leaking

Recognise any of those? That is this fault, and the rest of this page explains what causes it and what you can check yourself.

What usually causes it

  • Failed temperature sensor on the heater assembly
  • Damaged or corroded wiring/connector between the sensor and the control board
  • Water ingress or a leak that has affected the sensor connection
  • A fault on the control board itself misreading the sensor

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

  1. Turn the dishwasher off at the wall socket for a minute, then switch back on and start a fresh cycle — occasionally the code is a one-off reading and clears
  2. If water is sitting in the bottom, clean the filter in the base and check the drain hose is not kinked, so the machine isn't fighting a second problem at the same time

Which Servis models show F06

F06 means the same thing on all 5 of these models. If yours is not listed, the explanation above still applies — the code is set by the control board, not the model number.

Can I fix Servis F06 myself?

There are 2 checks you can safely do yourself first.

  1. Turn the dishwasher off at the wall socket for a minute, then switch back on and start a fresh cycle — occasionally the code is a one-off reading and clears.
  2. If water is sitting in the bottom, clean the filter in the base and check the drain hose is not kinked, so the machine isn't fighting a second problem at the same time.
