Servis F05 dishwasher: what it means & what to check

What F05 actually means

The dishwasher isn't happy with the water coming into it illing water when it shouldn't be, so it has stopped the programme.

On these Servis machines F05 is a water intake fault. Tap turned off, partly closed, or a temporary loss of mains water
Kinked or crushed fill hose restricting the flow
Blocked filters in the base of the tub upsetting water levels
Fault in the water level sensing or the control board

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the water tap off at the wall \u2014 if the machine is filling when it shouldn't, this is the first thing to do
Cancel the programme and switch the dishwasher off at the socket for a minute, then try again
Check the tap is fully open and that your cold water is running normally elsewhere in the house
Look behind the machine, if you can reach, and make sure the fill hose isn't kinked or trapped
Lift out and rinse the filters in the base of the tub, then refit them properly
