What is actually happening
Where a single zone has failed the fault is nearly always that zone — its element or its energy regulator. Where the whole hob is dead, the fault is upstream in the supply or the control board. Which of those two it is decides whether this is a modest repair or a bigger one, so it is the first thing to establish.
The Electrolux fault codes that point at this
A Electrolux electric hob will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to not heating:
- C01 — The hob's electronics have spotted a mismatch between the current it thinks it is drawing from the mains and the current actually flowing through the power stage that drives the induction coils, so it shuts the affected zone down.
- C02 — The two processors inside the hob's power board have lost step with each other, so the hob shuts the affected cooking zone down rather than carry on.
- C03 — The hob has measured the incoming mains voltage as too low and has shut the cooking zones down to protect itself.
- C04 — The hob has decided the electricity reaching it isn't the frequency it expects, so it has shut the cooking zones down.
- C05 — The hob has spotted that one of its main power relays isn't releasing properly, so it has shut the cooking zones down rather than risk leaving power switched on.
- C06 — The hob has spotted a problem with the cooling fan that keeps its induction electronics from overheating, so it has shut the cooking zones down.
- E00 — The hob's two circuit boards aren't talking to each other properly \u2014 the touch/control board and the power board underneath don't match, so the hob shuts itself down rather than heating.
- E01 — The hob's power electronics and its touch control are not set up to match each other, so the hob refuses to run.

The usual causes on a Electrolux electric hob
- A failed radiant element in one zone
- A failed energy regulator or touch control for that zone
- A failed control board where the whole hob is dead
