Electrolux C03 hob: what it means & what to check

What C03 actually means

The hob has measured the incoming mains voltage as too low and has shut the cooking zones down to protect itself.

The power board on these induction hobs constantly monitors the supply it is being fed. When the voltage it sees drops below what it needs to run the induction coils, it stops heating and shows this code rather than trying to work on an inadequate supply. The reading can be genuinely low mains voltage, but in practice it is more often a poor connection somewhere between the wall and the board, which drops the voltage the board actually receives.

A loose or poorly made connection at the hob's supply terminals or socket
Corroded or partly detached connectors on the power board
Genuinely low or unstable mains voltage in the property, or a supply shared with heavy loads
A faulty power board misreading the incoming voltage

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Switch the hob off at the wall or at the cooker isolator switch for a minute, then back on — if it was a momentary dip in the supply, the code may not return.
Check whether anything else in the kitchen is behaving oddly, such as lights dimming when other appliances run, and mention it to the engineer.
If the hob is plugged into a socket rather than hard-wired, make sure the plug is pushed fully home.
