Electrolux C07 hob: what it means & what to check

What C07 actually means

The hob has measured a mains supply voltage outside the range it will run on, so it has shut the cooking zones down rather than carry on.

The induction power board constantly monitors the incoming mains voltage. If it reads too high or too low, the board stops driving the coils and puts C07 on the display, usually with the zones cutting out mid-cook. It is a protective shutdown — the electronics inside an induction hob are easily damaged by an unstable supply, so the board refuses to run rather than risk it.

What C07 looks like on a Electrolux hob

What usually causes it

A genuine supply problem — a loose or failing connection at the hob's terminal block or the fuse board
Wrongly connected mains — for instance the live and neutral feeds not matched to the terminal block layout after an installation or a kitchen refit
Voltage dips caused by something else on the same circuit, such as a shower or oven pulling heavily
A fault on the hob's own power board, so it misreads a perfectly good supply

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the hob off at the wall (or the consumer unit switch) for a minute, then back on — an isolated glitch will often clear
Check whether other things on the same kitchen circuit are flickering or tripping, which points at the supply rather than the hob
If the hob was recently installed or the electrics were worked on, mention that to whoever attends — mains connection errors are a common cause of this code
