What E27 actually means
The machine has spotted water where it shouldn't be — either a leak inside, or water draining away on its own — and has shut the cycle down to protect itself.
Beko's control board watches the water level, and E27 comes up when the level behaves in a way that only makes sense if water is escaping or being siphoned out of the tub. The other cause on Beko's own fault chart is the drain pump's electronic switch (triac) failing short, so the pump runs when it shouldn't and empties the machine as fast as it fills. Either way the machine keeps taking water in without ever reaching level, so it stops rather than flood the floor.
What usually causes it
- A leak from the drum's water connections or hoses inside the cabinet
- The drain hose pushed too far down a standpipe, so the machine siphons itself empty
- The vent hose knocked off or left unattached
- Drain pump triac failed short circuit on the control board, leaving the pump running constantly
- A perished door seal or split sump hose letting water out during the wash
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the machine off at the wall and look underneath and around the base for water on the floor.
- Check the drain hose isn't pushed too far into the standpipe or waste — the end should sit in the top of the pipe, not deep down it, or the machine will siphon.
- Make sure the drain hose isn't kinked or trapped behind the machine.
- Leave it off at the socket for a minute, then run a short cycle and watch for water appearing.
