What C05 actually means
The board that switches power to the heating elements has a relay stuck closed, so the appliance has shut itself down rather than risk heating when it shouldn't.
Inside the appliance, a main relay on the power board acts as the switch that feeds power to the heating side. The control electronics have checked that relay and found the contacts are still making when they should have released \u2014 in other words, stuck. Because a stuck relay could mean power reaching an element out of the appliance's control, it locks out and shows the code instead of continuing.
What C05 looks like on a Electrolux oven
Most people find this page having searched for what the machine is doing rather than the code itself. On a Electrolux oven, C05 usually shows up as one or more of these:
- Oven door won't open
- Door won't lock or click shut
