What F00 actually means
The oven's control board can't reliably read or write its own memory, so it has shut the cooking functions down.
On these Electrolux ovens the electronic control stores its settings and calibration in a small memory chip on the board. When the board tries to read or write that memory and the data doesn't come back correctly, it flags F0 (shown as F00 on some displays) and stops, rather than run heating elements on settings it can't trust. Typically the display still lights and buttons may respond, but the oven won't heat or hold a programme.
What usually causes it
- A corrupted memory chip on the oven's electronic control board
- A failed or failing control board after a power surge or spike
- A one-off glitch caused by a brief interruption to the mains supply
- Damp or heat damage to the control board over years of use
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Turn the oven off at the wall (or switch off its circuit at the consumer unit) for a minute, then power it back up — a genuine one-off glitch can clear on a reset.
- If your model has a main on/off switch on the fascia, switch it off and on again.
- Note whether the code comes straight back or only after a while, and mention that when you book — it helps us decide between board repair and replacement.

This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above.
