What E02 actually means
The oven's control panel isn't set up correctly for this appliance, so it won't let the oven run.
Electrolux uses E02 for a configuration fault on the user interface — the touch or display board that you press to set the oven. The board's stored settings don't match what the oven expects, so it shuts down rather than heating with the wrong instructions. It usually needs reprogramming or replacing by an engineer.
What usually causes it
- Control panel lost or corrupted its stored settings
- A replacement control panel fitted with the wrong programming
- Power surge or interruption while the oven was on
- Fault developing in the control panel itself
- Communication problem between the control panel and the main board
What you can safely check yourself
Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.
- Switch the oven off at the wall or trip the breaker, wait a full minute, then switch it back on — the code sometimes clears
- If the oven has a plug, unplug it for a minute rather than reaching behind the appliance

This one usually needs an engineer once you have tried the checks above.
