Electrolux E07 hob: what it means & what to check

What E07 actually means

The hob has spotted a problem with the cooling fan on its induction power board, so it has shut down the affected cooking zone or zones.

Underneath the glass, the induction electronics run hot and are cooled by a small fan. The control software watches for that fan starting up and running properly — if it doesn't spin, spins too slowly, or the fan control circuit on the board fails, the hob throws E07 rather than risk cooking its own electronics. Typically one side of the hob (or one board's worth of zones) goes dead while the rest may still work, which is why people often think only a single zone has failed.

What E07 looks like on a Electrolux hob

What usually causes it

The cooling fan is jammed or its impeller is fouled with dust and grease
A failed component in the fan control circuit on the induction board — on King Tiger boards from certain 2024–2025 production this is the most common cause by a distance
Fan wiring or plug not making a proper connection to the power board
The induction power board itself has failed
Ventilation under the hob obstructed by stored items, so the fan cannot move air

What you can safely check yourself

Work through these in order. Anything beyond this — panels off, testing parts, anything to do with the wiring — is an engineer's job, and not one to attempt with the machine plugged in.

Turn the hob off at the wall for a minute, then switch back on — if the fault was a one-off the code may clear
If there is a drawer or cupboard beneath the hob, clear anything packed tightly against the underside so air can move freely
Check nothing has been placed over the hob's vent slots or trim if your model has them
