What is actually happening
Constant bleeping is a fault warning rather than a fault in itself — the machine has stopped and is trying to tell you why. On most makes the pattern of flashing lights, or a code in the display, identifies it. Count the flashes and note any code before switching it off, because that reading is the fastest route to the right part.
The Grundig fault codes that point at this
A Grundig washing machine will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to beeping or bleeping:
- E02 — The machine can't heat the water he heating element, so it has stopped and flagged the heater as electrically broken.
- E03 — The machine has spotted that the heating element is staying on when it shouldn't, so it has stopped the wash to avoid boiling your laundry.
- E05 — The machine can't get the water out — the drain pump either isn't running or is blocked.
- E06 — The control board's switching component for the drum motor has failed short, so the machine can no longer control the motor properly and stops the programme.
- E07 — The machine can't get a sensible reading from the sensor that tells it how much water is in the drum, so it stops rather than risk filling or draining blind.
- E08 — The machine hasn't got enough water in the drum in the time it expects, so it has stopped and flagged a water supply problem.
- E09 — The machine can't lock the door, so it refuses to start filling or washing.
- E10 — The machine has spotted a fault in the circuit on its main control board that powers the door lock, so it won't run a cycle.
If yours is showing one of those, that is a much shorter conversation than a general fault — tell us the code when you book and the engineer can often carry the part.
The usual causes on a Grundig washing machine
- A drain fault — the most common reason a machine stops and bleeps
- A door lock fault, where the machine cannot confirm the door is shut
- A fill or water-level fault
- A heating or sensor fault reported as a code
What you can safely check yourself
- Write down the code shown, or the pattern of flashing lights, before you switch it off
- Check whether there is water left in the drum — that points straight at draining
- Look up the code on our error-code pages, which cover 708 codes across 24 makes
Still beeping or bleeping?
If the checks above have not sorted it, it needs looking at properly. £66 including VAT for an engineer to come out and diagnose it, or £84 in total including VAT if it is put right on the visit and no parts are needed. Any parts needed are quoted on site before we fit them — you decide. Every repair carries a 90-day workmanship guarantee.
Our engineers work on Grundig machines week in, week out, so they arrive knowing the machine rather than reading the back of it. Local engineers across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

Common questions
Why is my Grundig washing machine beeping or bleeping?
The machine is bleeping repeatedly, usually with a light flashing, and has stopped mid-cycle. Constant bleeping is a fault warning rather than a fault in itself — the machine has stopped and is trying to tell you why. On most makes the pattern of flashing lights, or a code in the display, identifies it. Count the flashes and note any code before switching it off, because that reading is the fastest route to the right part.
Can I fix a Grundig washing machine beeping or bleeping myself?
Write down the code shown, or the pattern of flashing lights, before you switch it off. Check whether there is water left in the drum — that points straight at draining. Look up the code on our error-code pages, which cover 708 codes across 24 makes. Those checks fix it more often than not.
What Grundig error codes mean beeping or bleeping?
Grundig washing machines report this through their own fault codes. The ones that point at beeping or bleeping are E02, E03, E05, E06, E07, E08. If your machine is showing one of those, that narrows it down considerably — each has its own guide on this site.
How much does a Grundig washing machine repair cost?
