A flashing light is a fault code being reported in the only way the machine can. On most makes the pattern of flashes or the code shown identifies the fault precisely, and the two most common are a drain fault and the anti-flood float. Note the code before switching anything off — it is the quickest route to the right diagnosis.
The New World fault codes that point at this
A New World dishwasher will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to lights flashing:
- F01 — The dishwasher has tried to pump the water out, given it three minutes and the water level hasn't dropped, so it has stopped and flagged a drain fault.
- F03 — The dishwasher has spotted water still flowing into the machine when the fill valve should be shut, so it has stopped the programme rather than risk overfilling.
- F04 — The dishwasher can't get a reliable reading of how much water it's taking in, so it stops rather than carry on blind.
- F05 — The dishwasher isn't getting enough water in, so it has stopped rather than run a cycle dry.
- F06 — The dishwasher has lost trust in its water temperature sensor, so it has stopped the programme rather than carry on heating blind.
- F07 — The dishwasher has a problem with heating the water and has stopped the programme rather than carrying on.
- F08 — The valve that switches water between the upper and lower spray arms isn't in the position the dishwasher expects, so the machine has stopped the cycle.
- F09 — The dishwasher has lost track of the valve that switches water between the upper and lower spray arms, and has stopped the programme rather than carry on washing blind.
