What is actually happening
The machine opens a valve at the back to fill, and watches the pressure system to know when it has enough. No water at all usually means the supply, the valve or a blocked inlet filter. Water that fills and immediately drains away points at the drain hose being fitted too low, siphoning the water straight back out.
The Beko fault codes that point at this
A Beko washing machine will usually tell you what it thinks is wrong before anyone opens it up. These are the codes we hold for this make that relate to not filling with water:
- E04 — The machine has spotted a fault in the electronics that switch the water inlet valves, so it has stopped rather than risk filling uncontrollably.
- E07 — The machine can't get a sensible reading from the part that tells it how much water is in the drum, so it won't start the wash.
- E08 — The machine isn't getting enough water in, so it has stopped the cycle.
- E09 — The machine can't lock the door properly, so it won't start the wash.
- E12 — The machine thinks it has too much water in it, so it has shut the wash down and is draining instead of washing.
- E14 — The machine has spotted an electrical fault in the circuit that drives its jet (recirculation) pump — the pump that sprays water back over the laundry — and has stopped rather than run the wash blind.
- E15 — The machine can't get a proper reading from the sensor that measures how much water is coming in, so it stops rather than risk filling wrongly.
- E17 — The machine has detected too much foam in the drum and has ended the programme early without finishing the rinse or spin.

The usual causes on a Beko washing machine
- The inlet tap turned off, or a kinked fill hose
- A blocked filter gauze in the inlet hose connection — it clogs with grit from the mains
- A failed water inlet valve
- A blocked or disconnected pressure chamber hose, so the machine misreads the level
What you can safely check yourself
- Check the tap behind the machine is fully open and the fill hose is not kinked
- Turn the tap off, unscrew the fill hose at the tap end and check the small gauze filter for grit
- Listen at the start of a cycle — a buzz with no water points at the valve
